Recently, the Ministry of Education of Degree and Graduate Education Development Center officially announced the third round level 1 discipline evaluation results. The rankings of SDU’s level 1 disciplines significantly increased, Chinese language and literature disciplines of LJS ranked fifth, not only stays in the top 10%, but also becomes one of the sharp rising subjects in SDU.

The Ministry of Education of Degree and Graduate Education Development Center organized the implementation of Level 1 discipline evaluation since 2002. Appraisal objects are the level 1 subjects which have degree awarded qualification for graduate students training. Total 4235 subjects from 391 units participated in this assessment. Evaluation subjects covered widely, and objective and subjective evaluation methods were adopted. The results got general recognition of the education departments and all social circles.

The assessment work launched in December 2011. Under the unified deployment of SDU, our leaders organized carefully, worked closely with various departments. All teachers actively participated in the subject declaration and material preparation, and finished early preparation work, comprehensively displayed discipline construction progressed and results in five years. By the joint efforts of both teachers and students, the department of Chinese language and literature discipline evaluation grade has made important progress. The national rank advanced from eighth to fifth, achieved a great leap and fully showed our academic strength and subject construction achievements in recent years. We extended deep respect to all the teachers who contributed to our school’s development.
