Recently, the opening report of 2012 National Social Science Fund(NSSF) major project was held at 717 meeting room in Zhixin building block A. The project “An investigation of ‘literature life’ in current society” was submitted by professor Wen Rumin, the chief expert of Literature and Journalism School (LJS) and was approved by NSSF in 2012. More than 30 people including professor DingFan, researcher BaiYe who are from Nanjing university and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and some members of the group attend the opening report .lifetime professor Zeng Fanren met with experts, professor Zheng Chun the dean of the Literature and Journalism School, presided over the meeting.

Project chief expert Wen Rumin firstly made an outlining explanation on the origin, content, focus. He pointed out that literature life study tries to explore production, communication and consumption, acceptance and influence of literature publication, media, reading and comprehension, effect etc. The project advocates more attention on “literature consumption” from ordinary people, including production, communication of the works, especially readers’ response, and strives to break “internal recycle” pattern in the current research that focuses only on writer works and critics. It is an innovation of traditional literary research way and angle, aiming to produce new academic research field and inject fresh vitality to the discipline construction.He Zhongming, Zheng Chun, Zhang Xuejun, Liu Fangzheng who are the directors of sub-topics introduced their topic research plan, research methods and recent research direction and category to the experts.

Referring to the opening report, the participating experts put forward many constructive Suggestions from different point of view.WenRuMin on behalf of the group, expressed thanks for expert evaluation and Suggestions and said they will strive to complete this important project on time and achieve all tasks as requests.
