On the afternoon of September 14, 2012, professor Ma Ruifang was invited to The Second Middle School Attached to Shandong University (SMSASU), and gave an excellent lecture about Chinese classics to teachers and students in grade 9.

Known as “professor writer”, Prof. Ma Ruifang took two novels The Romance of The Three Kingdoms and Water Margin as examples, explained the relation between history and romance from the background of the novels. And she also pointed out the features of Virtual-Actual Combination in literature which gave the students an effective guide for writing. When Prof. Ma talked about The Romance of The Three Kingdoms in detail, her interpretation of “three” gave the teachers and students an instruction for reading the novel from a high level. Especially when she referred the wisdom of Zhu Geliang, one of the best three characters, smartest paragraphs in the novel were quoted. Her vivid interpretation gained enthusiastic applause from the teachers and students. At the same time, she combined her reading experience when she was a teenager, and gave wonderful comments to the famous characters in Water Margin.

All the students immersed in her speech and concentrated on taking notes in the lecture. When the lecture was finished, all the teachers and students were still longing for more from her, and warmest applause broke out for their highest respect to Prof. Ma.
