On the afternoon of September 1, Leadership and Freshmen Meeting was held in Room 201 of Lecture Hall at Xinglong Mountain Campus by Literature and Journalism School (LJS) . About 270 people attended the meeting, including Dean Zheng Chun, Prof. Wang Xiaoshu, Vice president Liao Qun, Director Wang Yongge and Dean assistant Liu Yuetan and other teachers, all the freshmen and their parents. The meeting was hosted by Vice secretary Zhang Shuai.

At the beginning of the meeting, Zheng Chun extended a warm welcome to freshmen and gave warm-heart thanks to their parents for sending children here from all parts of the country. Then he introduced the long history and good traditions of the department, as well as the important status in academic circles，and emphasized the department is worth priding and cherishing. Zheng said: "we are family at campus and freshmen can take a serious and steady first step and accomplish the transformation from middle school students to university students as soon as possible". He also hoped that the university life is a totally new start for all freshmen and it is important to have a meaningful memory during this period.

Professor Wang Xiaoshu, as the representative of teachers, quoted Confucius' teaching way and mentioned that university students should undertake more missions during this new historical period，meanwhile，they should develop the ability of self-study and independent thinking because of the deepening of teaching reformation.

The representative of grade 2011 students Yun Fan looked back the details of study and life，she also shared the unique experience of university life. In the end，counselors introduced the recent activities and security matters attention and answered questions related to students and parents.

It was a meeting filled with happiness，while it was the first lesson till the freshmen entered the LJS. The classroom was full of applause. This meeting made the freshmen and their parents obtain a better understanding of LJS, and laid a good foundation for further communication.
